In the last three years CVS Caremark has been the premiere sponsor of Easter Seals Walk With Me events nationwide. CVS Caremark colleagues have formed walk teams to raise money for their local Easter Seals affiliates through car washes, bake sales, community events, community partnerships and other creative projects. More than 10,000 colleagues and associates participated in over 150 Easter Seals Walk events, which helped raise over $1.2 Million for Easter Seals affiliates in markets across the country. The money raised will bring help and hope to many children living with disabilities.

Disability Awareness Nights
In 2002, EP Global Communications, Inc. created a dynamic community outreach program called Disability Awareness Night (DAN). The mission of DAN is to expand awareness of the 54 million Americans with disabilities by highlighting their extraordinary achievements and the perseverance and dedication of the families, caregivers, physicians, nurses, therapists and teachers involved in their care and development. The presentation of the EP Maxwell J. Schleifer Distinguished Service Award (named after the founder and former editor-in-chief of Exceptional Parent magazine) at each DAN event signifies the remarkable accomplishments that can be achieved under difficult circumstances. Since the program’s inception, DAN events have been held across the country honoring hundreds of people for their accomplishments and donating thousands of tickets to special needs organizations.
In 2009, not only did CVS Caremark participate in presenting the EP Maxwell J. Shleifer Award, but we provided grants to Special Olympics and Best Buddies organizations representing those communities at the following events:
