Ft. Bend ISD Special Olympics

FBISD Falcons is the Special Olympics organization in our district. We have a little over 100 athletes competing in softball, volleyball, bowling, basketball, track, tennis, and soccer. Our coaches are teachers in the district and are certified to coach. We run our program throughout the school year. We have not purchased any equipment or uniforms in the past 2 years and I was just told that I had 2,000 to spend so just ordered volleyball and softball uniforms. We need uniforms for basketball and track as well as equipment for as 2 new bowling ramps for our wheelchair athletes.
I came in to the district in 1991 and started coaching track at that time. We added basketball the next year and have grown from there.

The athletes' motto is 'Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.'

At the Area Volleyball Tournament we hosted this past November we didn't have enough large uniforms so our athletes wore t-shirts with numbers made out of tape on them.
