Evansville ARC's mission is to advance the value of and respect for all individuals with disabilities by providing opportunities for development, employment, and independence. Founded in 1954, Evansville ARC has become a leading advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. The organization provides an average of 165,000 days of service to over 675 unduplicated individuals each year in Vanderburgh County, Indiana and the surrounding area through several programs that are designed to meet the varied needs of all individuals served. Evansville ARC's seven main programs include Day Services For Adults, Behavioral Supports Services, ARC Industries, Connections For Life, Community Job Link, Successful Transitions, and the Child Life Center. The Child Life Center was started in 1993, and it is a fully licensed center accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Child Life Center provides child care and therapeutic programming to children with and without disabilities in an inclusive environment.
